Charlotte is serving up a full weekend of culture, food, and community. The Regional Festival of India brings an immersive celebration to Matthews, STEAMfest 2026 invites curious minds of all ages to explore and create in Mooresville, and the Charlotte StrEATs Festival gives food lovers two days to taste the best the city has to offer. Whether you're near or far, there's something worth the trip.

Regional Festival of India

  • What: A vibrant celebration of Indian culture
  • When: Saturday, April 11, 2026, from noon to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Stumptown Park, 120 S. Trade St., Matthews
  • Cost: Free admission; vendors will have items available for purchase

The India Association of Charlotte, in partnership with the Town of Matthews, presents the Regional Festival of India, a vibrant celebration of Indian culture at Stumptown Park. The free outdoor festival features dance performances, Indian street food, and a marketplace offering jewelry, clothing, and souvenirs. Visitors can enjoy saree draping, turban tying, and henna art, explore a visual art gallery, join a morning yoga session, and keep the kids engaged at an interactive corner. It's an immersive cultural experience for the whole family. Guests are encouraged to bring their own blanket or chair.

STEAMfest 2026

  • What: Explore, discover, and create
  • When: Sunday, April 12, 2025, from noon to 4 p.m.
  • Where: Woodlawn School, 135 Woodlawn School Loop, Mooresville
  • Cost: Free admission; vendors will have items available for purchase

North Carolina's largest STEM and arts festival is back. Hosted by Woodlawn School on its 61-acre campus, STEAMfest 2026 offers more than 100 free hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics for youth of all ages. Activities are created by teachers, students, local universities, museums, community organizations, and businesses, making it an engaging, exploratory experience for the whole family. Food trucks, artisans, vendors, and entertainment round out the day.

Charlotte StrEATs Festival

  • What: Taste your way through Charlotte
  • When: Saturday, April 11, 2026, from noon to 3 p.m. (11 a.m. for VIP), and Sunday, April 12, 2026, from noon to 5 p.m.
  • Where: First Ward Park, 301 E. Seventh St., Charlotte
  • Cost: Tasting Tour (Saturday) $110.70; Festival (Sunday) free admission; vendors will have items available for purchase

Now in its fifth year, the Charlotte StrEATs Festival is a multiday culinary celebration helping define Charlotte as a premier food destination. The festival spans three signature experiences: StrEATs Uncorked, a ticketed walk-around wine and food tasting; the StrEATs Tasting Tour, a ticketed showcase of local restaurants, mixologists, and live music; and the Charlotte StrEATs Festival, a free community celebration featuring an artisan market, neighborhood cook-off battles, and cocktail demos. Part of Charlotte SHOUT!, the event highlights the city's diverse and thriving culinary community.

Charlotte's weekend is stacked from start to finish. Spectrum Center hosts two major back-to-back concert events, while the Blumenthal brings a powerful theatrical experience to the stage, giving you plenty of reasons to get out and make some noise.
