“He claimed his prize Thursday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh. After required federal and state tax withholdings, Chiles took home $344,450,” lottery officials said, according to the Charlotte Observer.
.The Food Lion on South Polk Street sold the winning ticket.

Chiles has a job in North Carolina and bought his ticket there. What he'll do with the money remains unknown, lottery officials said.

Players must pick five numbers between 1 and 43. If they'd rather not choose, the terminal can do it. Whether Chiles selected his own numbers wasn't disclosed by lottery officials.
Fort Mill sits just across the South Carolina state line. It's about a 20-mile drive south from uptown Charlotte.
The jackpot resets. The next Cash 5 drawing offers $110,000.
