During these few days, South Carolina drivers who lost their driving privileges will be eligible to reduce or clear the remaining suspension. Drivers would have had to lose their right to drive for specific reasons to be eligible. No fines or fees are waived during this time period.
The SCDMV will notify customers eligible via mail before hand those who qualify. If you are to receive a letter, they are encouraged to bring it with them during the week.
According to the SCDMV website, the types of suspensions that are eligible include:
- Driving under suspension, excluding alcohol- or drug-related conviction
- Excessive points on the record of a minor
- Operating an uninsured vehicle that the driver did not own
- Operating an unlicensed taxi
To participate, drivers must meet all conditions of suspension and visit an SCDMV location during the week. Only drivers who clear all suspension requirements will be able to apply for reinstatement.
