A few hundred $26 tickets will be up for grabs at each home game. General admission tickets for this weekend's home opener start at $52.30. This new pricing takes the place of the $15 box office tickets that used to go on sale two weeks before each home match.
The team won't open the upper bowl this season. Upper bowl tickets sold at a cheaper price in past seasons. This new ticket price lets Charlotte FC match what the upper bowl cost while keeping fans in the lower bowl.
The club still sells tickets to college students starting at $15. Active service members and veterans get free tickets.
Eric Sudol, Tepper Sports & Entertainment's chief revenue officer, said the lower price point reflects an attempt to capitalize on World Cup hype, according to Axios. Tepper Sports & Entertainment owns the team.
Soccer will have its moment. The eyes of the world turn toward North America for this summer's FIFA World Cup, and interest is climbing. The international tournament will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
The home opener takes place Saturday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. The Crown will face Austin FC at Bank of America Stadium. Season five at The Fortress begins with the match.
