Congratulations, Charlotte! The Charlotte region recently got recognized as second in the nation for job growth last year. According to reports, Charlotte added nearly 38,000 jobs. The only city to beat us is New York City.

WCNC reports that Charlotte's job growth rate of 2.7% is making Charlotte bigger and better. We are one of only five major metros that saw significant job growth in 2025. On the list, we can also see Philadelphia, Chicago, and Phoenix in the top five, along with us.

In the area, there are tons of jobs available. From corporate offices to local restaurants, business is booming. Not only are we able to help the job market, but we are also able to see growth within the city when it comes to small businesses.

“Charlotte is probably one of the best job markets in the country right now,” said economist Mark Vitner of Charlotte-based Piedmont Crescent Capital in a report. “People are moving here because there are a lot of jobs. When you add a lot of people, it creates a lot of jobs, too. … Charlotte is just having a moment right now where we are the hot thing.”

Nationally, there were over 520,000 jobs added in 2025. Will we see further growth in 2026?
