Starting next February, football fans can catch direct flights from Charlotte to San Jose for Super Bowl LX. American Airlines just added four round-trips between Charlotte Douglas and Mineta airports for the NFL's biggest event at Levi's Stadium.

"The season is just getting started, and American is locking in our game plan to get fans to the Big Game," said Jason Reisinger, American's managing director of global network planning, per WBTV.com.

Want to catch an early flight? Planes take off from Charlotte at 7:15 a.m. on Feb. 5 and 6, landing at 10:06 a.m. Night owls can pick the 6:00 p.m. departure, which touches down at 8:51 p.m.

After the game wraps up, two return options await on Feb. 9. The first flight lifts off at 7:30 a.m., reaching Charlotte by 3:34 p.m. A second plane departs at 11:10 a.m., landing at 7:14 p.m.

From the airport, it's a quick six-mile trip to the stadium where teams clash on Feb. 8. Early birds who book for Feb. 5 will pay $1,127. Those flying Feb. 6 need deeper pockets: tickets cost $1,537.

Fancy a first-class seat? That'll cost about $3,600 for the round trip. As teams battle their way toward the championship, American might add extra flights once the final matchup becomes clear.

This San Jose route marks the newest non-stop option from American's Charlotte base. With its control of 90% of Charlotte Douglas flights, the airport ranks sixth worldwide in plane traffic.

Fans can also catch Super Bowl flights to San Jose from seven other cities: Phoenix, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, and Dallas-Fort Worth. Booking is open through American's website and app.
