Fresh bagel spots are popping up across Charlotte. Three chains from the Northeast and Florida now bring their take on New York's famous breakfast staple to the Queen City.

PopUp Bagels picked Charlotte as its first southern outpost. The chain runs successful stores in New York and other northeastern states, where customers line up for their crispy-outside, soft-inside creations.

Down in South Charlotte's busy shopping district, Jeff's Bagel Run just opened its doors. Their Florida success story continues here with hand-rolled bagels, unique spreads, and strong coffee that keeps customers coming back.

Local favorite Family Dough Bagels shot to the top of Charlotte's food scene. "I found a bagel that tastes like home," wrote Desiree Mathurin, according to The Charlotte Observer. She praised their authentic New York taste.

These new spots meet a growing hunger for real breakfast food in Charlotte. Each brings its own twist: some boast extra-crunchy shells, while others pride themselves on perfectly chewy centers.

Big plans are in motion. PopUp Bagels wants ten North Carolina stores, starting right here in Charlotte. They announced this bold move last January.

Since opening in September 2024, Jeff's Bagel Run has turned their South Charlotte spot into a morning hot spot. Their mix of classic and creative flavors fits right in with the area's food scene.

Morning habits are changing fast in Charlotte. Recent food trends show more people want traditional breakfast choices, with bagels leading the charge.
