Starting November 22, The Bowl at Ballantyne in Charlotte transforms into a winter skating spot that runs until January 4, 2026. This marks the first time the outdoor space has added ice skating to its winter offerings.

Dubbed "Ice Skating at The Bowl," this winter spot opens its doors to skaters young and old. A $20 ticket for grown-ups includes skates, while kids under five pay $12.

First-time skaters won't slip and slide alone. Staff provide skating aids, but grab them fast, as supplies might not last. Throughout the season, local vendors set up shop and special events bring the community together.

Weekday skating starts at 4 p.m., with rink time until 9 p.m. Want to skate late? Friday nights keep going until 10. Weekend warriors can hit the ice from 11 a.m. Saturdays and noon Sundays, skating until 10 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Holiday schedules switch things up a bit. During Thanksgiving Break, Nov. 26 to 28, the rink stays open from noon to 10 p.m. The same times stick for Holiday Break between Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 25 to Jan. 2.

Christmas Eve cuts things short with noon to 5 p.m. skating. But Christmas Day makes up for it: noon straight through to 10 p.m.

Ticket sales start Oct. 1. Want the best shot at your perfect skating time? Book early: holiday slots fill up fast.
