This month brings a burst of creativity to Charlotte's streets. The city's International Arts Festival will fill September 2025 with shows, displays, and cultural gatherings. Artists from near and far will share their work across more than 200 events.

"We began the Charlotte International Arts Festival four years ago to celebrate the incredible richness of international cultures and artists that call Charlotte home. We also bring extraordinary art and creative experiences from around the world," said Tom Gabbard, President and CEO of Blumenthal Arts, according to WCCB Charlotte.

The month-long celebration marks its fourth year by joining forces with trusted partners. Festival of India, Latin American Festival, and Le Dîner en Blanc will return. Fresh additions to the lineup include Africa Live, Step Afrika, and Radical Grove: each bringing new sights and sounds to the mix.

Most shows won't cost a cent to watch. Paid events start at just $5, making art open to all. Visitors can watch performances, see art pieces, taste global foods, and meet others who call Charlotte home.

The numbers tell quite a story. Last year brought half a million people to the streets over 17 days. Artists from 63 countries put on 200 events, with 130 free shows and 275 small shops taking part. Five major art pieces stood tall in public spaces, while two local musicians filled the air with custom soundscapes.

Every corner of Charlotte plays a part. From UNCC's campus to the Independent Picture House, art spills into streets and parks. SouthPark After 5 adds night-time fun, while El Grito Festival brings its own special flair to the mix.

The festival aims to weave stronger bonds between neighbors through shared moments. "The result is a joyous reflection of Charlotte's global spirit and creative energy. With art and activities in neighborhoods throughout our city, CIAF brings people together to create new bonds and appreciation for the cultures and traditions found here," Gabbard said.
