The 43-story structure will mix office space and homes, adding 356,000 square feet of work areas and 346 living units to South End. Riverside Investment & Development secured money for construction on Sept. 5.
When finished in 2028, it will stand as the city's eighth-highest structure. Moore & Van Allen's staff will fill the top nine floors, making the law firm the main tenant.
This building marks phase two of the Queensbridge Collective. Shops and restaurants will take up 20,000 square feet at street level, bringing life to the sidewalks.
"This project literally bridges Uptown and South End, further knitting together our Central Business District," said Michael Smith, CEO of Charlotte Center City Partners, according to QCity Metro.
The site sits where downtown meets South End's buzz. Ground breaks in early 2026, starting a two-year build.
Charlotte's growth shows no signs of slowing. Five tall buildings broke ground downtown in 2025. These new structures will open their doors between 2027 and 2029.
Since 2020, three towers over 40 stories have joined the city's profile, and now 1111 South Tryon will add its mark to Charlotte's rising silhouette.
