A new open-air beer garden opens Sept. 11 at South Tryon Street and East Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in uptown Charlotte. The venue blends regional food, small-batch brews, and musicians in the plaza near Mimosa Grill.

The Plaza Beer Garden springs from a collaboration between Mimosa Grill, Resident Culture Brewing, and Charlotte Center City Partners. This outdoor space aims to attract both after-work crowds and city visitors.

"I spent years working Uptown, catching live music at Alive After Five, and soaking in the city's energy. To now bring a little RC magic back to the heart of Uptown — alongside friends at Mimosa Grill and Charlotte Center City Partners — is a dream realized," Resident Culture co-founder Phillip McLamb said in a news release per The Charlotte Observer.

Eight taps pour Resident Culture's brews. The selection includes Lightning Drops Hazy IPA, Riding for the Feeling Italian Pilsner, Island Time Mexican Lager and Disco Baby West Coast IPA. Seasonal picks and limited releases round out the options.

Mimosa Grill serves food through a quick-scan menu system. Options include beer-braised sausages, fresh-baked pretzels, and spicy Nashville chicken wings. Wine pours are also on hand for non-beer drinkers.

"Together with Resident Culture and Charlotte Center City Partners, we're creating a place where everyone can slow down, connect, and enjoy Uptown in a fresh way," Mimosa Grill owner Tom Sasser said in a news release.

A striking wall piece by artist NONY adds color to the space. Live performers set the mood.

When weather permits, the garden welcomes guests Thursday and Friday, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday noon to 6 p.m., and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. Find it at 325 S. Tryon St.
