A new Harriet's Hamburgers will start serving customers in Plaza Midwood's Commonwealth development this fall. This marks their fifth spot in the Charlotte area, as announced through Commonwealth's social channels.

The burger spot runs successful kitchens at Optimist Hall, Bowl at Ballantyne, and Concord. A Matthews branch will open around the same time as the Plaza Midwood location.

Brian Stockholm, who started Papi Queso, launched this burger business in 2020 at Optimist Hall. Their signature double-patties shine in creations like The "O.G." — stacked with white American cheese, pickles, onions, and sauce. Want more? The Royale packs yellow American cheese, fresh veggies, and crisp pickles between soft Parkerhouse buns.

"At Harriet's, our formula is simple: quality ingredients, no compromises. We serve hamburgers up hot and fast, with all-natural beef, premium cheese, and always with a side of kindness," states the company's website per Whatnow.com.

Customers can pick from crispy fries, gooey cheese curds, and special sauces. Sweet-toothed visitors go for Henry's Monster Cookie. The drink list mixes it up with craft sodas, fresh agua fresca, Lucy's lager, and their pink-hued frosé slushie.

The business puts its money where its values are. Through SHARE Charlotte, they back local causes that matter. Each Monster Cookie bought sends help to Halfway There Rescue.

While the exact start date at Commonwealth stays under wraps, we know the Matthews spot aims to fire up its grills in fall 2025.
