The Cornelius 911 center just finished installing new tech that puts it ahead of most dispatch centers in North Carolina. The fresh setup brings next-level emergency response tools to town.

When problems occur and regular lines fail, calls will switch straight to a private 5G network. This smart backup keeps helping come fast. The system never stops, not even during storms or blackouts.

"This advancement places Cornelius at the forefront of emergency communications technology," said Daniel Little, director of Emergency Communications, according to WCNC. "Our community can rest assured that no matter the circumstances, our 911 center will remain connected and ready to respond."

The new setup handles more than just voice calls. People can now send texts or videos when they need help. First responders also get better tools to share vital info when minutes count.

Officials backed this project with full support. They want the best emergency care for everyone: from locals to tourists passing through. No corners were cut.

After weeks of strict testing, the system went live. Each backup plan and new feature passed tough checks before getting the green light.

Only a few other 911 centers in North Carolina match this tech level. It's a big step up for emergency response in the state. Quick help is now just a tap away.
