Looks like Whataburger is making some more ground in the Charlotte area. The Texas-based food chain signed a multi-year sponsorship with the Carolina Panthers and Charlotte FC. The expansion to the Carolinas is even more official.

The sponsorship also includes involvement in community programs with the Panthers, community engagement, and more with the teams. This includes Whataburger being the presenting sponsor of the Panthers Girls Flag Football initiative.

The sponsorship includes a presence at Bank of America Stadium in Uptown, where both teams play for their home games. WSOC-TV reports that Whataburger has so far expanded in multiple cities in North Carolina. The first opening in Gastonia and now, there are locations in Hickory and Indian Land opened, and more coming in Mooresville and Rock Hill.

What's next? Soon, you'll be able to see a Whataburger food truck serving free patty melts and a new summer drink during the Panthers' home opener for the regular season on September 21. So, if you have not had Whataburger yet, then you may have a special chance if you're at the game!
