After 47 dark years, Charlotte's Carolina Theatre springs back with eight spine-chilling films this October. The series starts on Oct. 3 with Bela Lugosi's iconic Dracula from 1931.

"There's no better place to watch history's most beloved horror movies than in Charlotte's historic theatre," said Sean Seifert, the Carolina Theatre's executive director, per WCNC. "Just beware: Our theatre has its own off-screen ghost."

The "sCarolina Classic Halloween Movie Series" fills October nights with screams and chills. This marks a fresh start for the venue, which opened its doors in March 2025 after sitting quiet since 1978.

On Oct. 25, fans can catch Rocky Horror Picture Show with extra twists. Each ticket includes prop bags, while local actors from That Type bring the wild characters to life right alongside the film.

Classic monsters rule the screen through October. Boris Karloff terrifies in Frankenstein on Oct. 14, then returns with Elsa Lanchester in Bride of Frankenstein on Oct. 15. Ancient curses come alive in The Mummy on Oct. 19, before Rocky Horror Picture Show takes over on Oct. 25.

The final week packs a punch. Underwater terror strikes in Creature from the Black Lagoon  on Oct. 28. Zombies shamble in during "Night of the Living Dead" on Oct. 29. Michael Myers stalks onto screen in Halloween on Oct. 31. Shows start at 7 p.m., except for the 8 p.m. "Rocky Horror" and a 2 p.m. "Mummy" matinee.

Grab tickets starting Aug. 22 at 10 a.m. through the theatre's site or at Guest Services.
