Money flows to Alexander, Anson, Burke, and Gaston through two key programs. The Building Reuse Program and Industrial Development Fund back these efforts. Stein stressed how rural growth lifts the whole state's economy.
In Bessemer City, Healsee Capsules snagged $500,000 to launch their second U.S. site. The plant-based capsule maker will hire 95 workers. They'll pour $69.5 million into fixing up an old building to make cellulose ethers and empty capsules.
Down in Ansonville, a $500,000 grant backs Halal Meat Slaughter House's move to bigger quarters. This family business will add 61 jobs. They're putting $4.5 million into local growth.
Taylorsville got $175,000 to fix an empty hospital. Urgent Care of Mountain View, LLC, takes over the 16,000-square-foot building. They'll bring 14 jobs and spend $551,000 on updates.
Burke County secured $697,000 for a major upgrade. Workers will install 2,500 feet of natural gas lines under Burke Business Park. This change sets up future growth in the area.
The state's rural development team runs these programs through the Rural Infrastructure Authority. They pick which rural towns get help.
This marks the latest push to boost rural areas. The funds turn empty buildings into busy workplaces and fix old systems. New companies and growing local businesses benefit from these changes.
