After a 23-year break, NBC will broadcast NBA games again. Starting Oct. 21, fans can watch 100 games on the network. NBC last aired pro basketball from 1990 to 2002.

The broadcast crew brings star power to the screen. Former players Carmelo Anthony, Tracy McGrady, and Vince Carter will break down games in the studio. On game nights, viewers will hear Reggie Miller, Jamal Crawford, and Grant Hill share their takes. Mike Tirico leads the play-by-play team with Noah Eagle, Terry Gannon, and Michael Grady.

"Been dying to share some exciting career news!! SO excited to be a part of the @NBAonNBC this fall!! Joining the @NBCSports crew is an absolute dream come true ... cannot wait to be back court-side!!" said Ashley ShahAhmadi, according to Sportskeeda.

The network picked strong talent for sideline coverage. ShahAhmadi joins forces with Zora Stephenson and Jordan Cornette to report from the court. Grant Liffmann steps in as the NBA news breaker. In the studio, Maria Taylor and Ahmed Fareed will guide viewers through game nights.

NBA legend Michael Jordan adds his voice as a guest analyst. His playing days lined up with NBC's first run of NBA games. The broadcast team pulls talent from across ESPN, TNT Sports, and local networks.

ShahAhmadi brings skills from her work on ESPN's playoff games and Charlotte Hornets broadcasts. She has split her time covering college football on ESPN's SEC Network since 2023.

With this mix of fresh voices and basketball stars, NBC aims to shake up NBA coverage. The network starts fresh after its last NBA broadcast ended in 2002, closing a 12-year chapter in sports TV history.
